You may want to invite someone to edit one course or a particular set of courses. For instance, you may want to give a colleague or guest contributor full access to personally create and teach one course - but without allowing them to edit other courses in your account.

If this is the case, you can invite the individual to a course as a Course Editor.

What is a Course Editor?

A Course Editor is a member in your account who has permission to edit one or more courses. A Course Editor can edit the Source Path and all Cohorts for the courses he is editing, as well as the course and cohort settings. Course Editors can invite other Course Editors and can invite people to join the Cohorts associated with the course or courses they edit.

To personally teach a cohort, the Course Editor should enroll himself in that Cohort as a teacher. This ensures that they receive notifications from the course and they are displayed to learners as the teacher.

Course Editors count as staff members on your billing plan. Removing a Course Editor from all courses they are editing will remove them from your staff count for billing purposes. Learn more here.

  • First, view the Course that you'll be inviting people to join.

  • Open the Course Settings, then select Editors and click the invite button.

  • Enter the email address of each person you wish to invite as a Course Editor.

  • The role will default to Course Editor.

  • Optionally, add a personal message (recommended). Now, just hit the "Send Invites" button. Your people will receive their invitation in their inbox in moments.

Method 2: shareable link

  • First, view the Course that you'll be inviting people to join.

  • Now simply paste the link anywhere you'd like to use it.

Method 3: add to Path

If the person is already a member of your account, you can use Add to Path to instantly enroll them in any course in any role, including Course Editor. Learn more about Add to Path here.
