How Pathwright pricing and billing works

Everything you need to know to evaluate and plan around your Pathwright bill.

We've designed each Pathwright pricing plan to help you grow and impact more people while we grow with you. In fact, all current plans include the first 1,000 members, from the Starter Plan to the Enterprise Plan.

In a nutshell, each plan is priced around three variables:

Price = base plan fee + (for 5% of accounts) extra learner blocks + extra staff

Let’s drill in to each of the 3 pricing variables:

Variable 1: Base Plan Fee

Each plan has a flat monthly price that's based on how many features you need. The Starter Plan has the lowest number of features and is perfect for individual teachers or small teams just starting out while the Enterprise Plan includes everything and is best for established, larger teams or organizations. 95% of Pathwright accounts never pay more than the Base Plan Fee, so that's the primary number you'll want to budget around.

If you have more than 1,000 people active every month or have a team of people who create, administrate, or provide mentorship, then two secondary variables may come into play:

  • Variable 2: Extra Member Blocks. Each plan includes up 1,000 members at no extra cost. ("Members" are people with access to your account in roles like learner, moderator, or teacher.) After you exceed 1,000 members, a small extra fee is automatically added to your monthly base in blocks of 250, 500, 1,000, or 2,000 members. The additional price per block varies based on the plan you're on but the incremental cost per member goes down the more you grow.

    💡Tip: If some of your members haven't been active in a while, you can remove access from them in seconds and they won't count towards your bill. You can even optionally enable them to automatically get access back whenever they sign-in next, so they won't even know anything changed. 

  • Variable 3: Extra Staff. Each plan includes one or several staff members at no additional cost. ("Staff" are people with access to your account as an administrator, editor, or lead mentor.) If you need more staff than what your plan includes but don't want to upgrade to another plan, then you can add more staff anytime for a small monthly fee.

A few other things you may want to know about our plans...

You don't need to pick a plan to start — you can create a free account and start building courses right now and upgrade whenever you're ready to start teaching.

Get your first month free on any monthly plan. Request cancellation within 30 days and you won't be billed.
You can pay monthly or annually (annual payment provides a 10% discount off standard pricing).
You can apply for a scholarship on any plan (cannot be stacked with 10% discount for annual payment).
You can upgrade or downgrade to another plan anytime.
You can cancel your plan anytime. If you cancel, we'll prorate your final bill and you'll still have access to all your content and member information as the account owner (but no one else will be able to access it.)

Here’s a summary of these three variables and monthly fees for each plan. All plans include the first 1,000 members.

Starter Plan Base Fee: $99 per month

  • Key features: includes all the basics

  • Cohorts: one active cohort per course

  • Extra Member Blocks: 500 for $49, 1,000 for $79, 5,000 for $309

  • Extra Staff: $2 (1 included)

Essentials Plan Base Fee: $199

  • Key features: adds custom domains, subscriptions, and more

  • Cohorts: three active cohorts per course

  • Extra Member Blocks: 500 for $94, 1,000 for $139, 5,000 for $599

  • Extra Staff: $4 (5 included)

Complete Plan Base Fee: $499

  • Key features: adds course certificates, multiple subscriptions, and more.

  • Cohorts: unlimited active cohorts per course

  • Extra Member Blocks: 500 for $159, 1,000 for $329, 5,000 for $1,399

  • Extra Staff: $9 (20 included)

  • Extra Staff: $12 (50 included)
