View learner activity per learner, per Cohort, or across your entire account.

For admins, editors, teachers, moderators, mentor group admins, and mentors

The Activity feature allows you to see activity that is happening with individual learners, entire Cohorts, or across your entire account. Activity allows staff members to see at a glance how each of their learners is progressing. Within a particular Cohort, the Activity feed is called the Cohort Timeline. If enabled for learners, the Timeline allows learners to see how others are progressing through the same Cohort with them, for added motivation.


See Activity across the entire account

Account-wide Activity is visible only to account administrators and can be accessed from the Admin Dashboard.

Open to the Admin Dashboard by selecting "Dashboard" from the main account menu. Scroll to the bottom to move down the Activity Feed, or use the filters at the top of the feed to find what you're looking for.


See Activity for a single Cohort

Cohort Activity is always visible to admins. You may optionally allow editors, teachers, moderators, and learners to view the Activity as well. The Activity feed is called the Cohort Timeline when accessed in a particular Cohort and the information displayed is limited to activity going on in the selected Cohort.

Open the Cohort you wish to view and switch to the Community Tab. Select Timeline. Scroll to the bottom to move down the feed, or use the filters at the top of the feed to find what you're looking for.


See Activity for an individual learner

Learner activity for all learners is always visible to admins. Editors, teachers, moderators, Mentor Group admins and mentors will also be able to view learner activity, but only for learners that they have access to via a particular Course, Cohort, or Mentor Group.

To see individual learner activity, admins can open the account-wide Community by selecting it from the menu or admin Dashboard. From Community, click on a learner and select the Activity tab. Scroll to the bottom to move down the feed, or use the filters at the top of the feed to find what you're looking for.

From Community > Learner > Activity

Admins, teachers, moderators, mentor group admins, and mentors can access people they are teaching or mentoring via the Home page. From the Home page, select the People tab. Select a particular learner and open the Activity tab to see their activity. Mentors and mentor group admins may also select a Group, then select an individual learner and open the Activity tab to see progress for that learner.

From Home > People > Learner > Activity


Filters

Tap on the down arrow next to "all activity" to filter the activity feed so you can find the data you're most interested in viewing.

Here are all the activities that are tracked:

  • user creates account membership

  • user registers in a course

  • user completes course

  • user completes a step

  • user resets step

  • user skips step

  • user creates a discussion

  • user responds to a discussion

  • user creates a cohort

  • user subscribes

  • user unsubscribes
