How to access the Media Manager
From any step using Blocks content, insert an image or media Block. Hover over the template and select the button to "Replace" or "Add" a new file or image. This pulls up the Media Manager and allows you to instantly add your file to your Path.
Admins and editors can access the Media Manager for all your Learning Space branding images as well. Access the Media Manager when updating your Learning Space logos, backgrounds, and Library banners, as well as your Path covers, backgrounds, and author profiles.
To open the Media Manager directly, go to Menu > Settings > Open media manager.
Upload new images and files
With the Media Manager open, select the "Upload" button. Select a file or multiple files that you have on your device, or search the web or another app for a file.
You can upload...
Video files like .mp4, .mov, and .m4v up to 1.5GB
Audio files like .mp3 and .wav up to 100MB
Text files like .pdf and .docx up to 100MB
Presentations like .pptx, .pptm, and .key up to 100MB
Images like .jpeg and .png up to 100MB
After uploading, you can hover over any file and select the add icon (+) to add the file. Or hover over the file and select "Manage file" (or Manage image, audio, video) for more options.
Edit, organize, and reuse images and files
Once uploaded, you can use your files again and again. Use the search bar and filters along the top of the Media Manager to help you find specific media that you uploaded in the past. Select the "Your uploads" filter to view only the files that you uploaded and filter out files from other staff members.
Edit saved files anytime. To edit a file, hover over it and select "Manage file" (or Manage image, audio, video). From here, you can...
Edit image files (crop, shape, rotate)
Edit the file name
Download the file
Copy the link to the file
Add alternative text (for screen readers)
Add captions or subtitles to videos you've uploaded
Delete the file from the Manager (this only removes the file from the Manager; it will not remove the file from your Paths or Learning Space branding)
Add tags so you can easily search for the file in the future
💡Tip: After editing a file, you'll need to reinsert the file into your step to apply the changes. The file will only be updated on steps where the edited version has been reinserted.
Tags
To edit a file, hover over it and select "Manage file" (or Manage image, audio, video). In the tag field, type your tag and hit Enter. You can enter multiple tags if you hit Enter after each entry.
Or, tag/untag many files at once with batch tagging. Select multiple files by checking the upper right corner, and then apply a tag to all selected files.
Once you have your files tagged, you can search by tag to find a relevant piece of media:
Delete multiple files
To delete multiple files at once, select the files you wish to delete by checking the upper right corner. Then select "Delete # items" beside the search bar and confirm with "Delete."
This only removes the files from the Manager; it will not remove the file from your Paths or Learning Space branding.
