If you or one of your members is having a technical issue that we can't reproduce on our end, we may ask you or your member to provide a screenshot or screen recording so that we can further diagnose. Screenshots and screen recordings can also be helpful to add to a course to demonstrate to learners how to do something on Pathwright or another app.

Here are instructions on how to take a screenshot or screen recording on any device.

Screenshots

For Windows users

On Windows, the easiest way to take and save a screenshot is to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

For Mac users

On Mac computers, the easiest way to take and save a screenshot is to use the built-in Screenshot tool.

For iPhone users

IPhone users can take a screenshot by pressing both the Home and Power buttons at the same time. You should see the screen flash when the screenshot is taken and the resulting image will be saved in your Photos.

For Android users

Android users can take a screenshot by pressing both the Volume and Power buttons at the same time. On older phones, you may need to download a screenshot app. Go to the Google Play Store and search for "screenshot" to find a compatible app.

Screen recordings

For Windows users

Windows doesn't have a really easy way to take a screen recording. WikiHow recommends using the built-in XBox Game Bar or downloading the free OBS Studio Software to take a screen recording, or you can use a number of other third-party apps or sites that provide screen recording capabilities. For example, if you are already familiar with Vimeo, Loom, CloudApp, SoapBox by Wistia, or another video recording tool, you may prefer to use one of those tools.

For Mac users

On Mac computers, the easiest way to take and save a screen recording is to use the built-in Screenshot tool which also includes a screen record option.

For iPhone users

IPhone users can use the Record button in the Control Center to record their screen.

For Android users

Android users can swipe down from the top of the screen twice to access the Screen Record button. Find further instructions here.
