Group Subscriptions provide members with access to study material for virtually any small-group setting.

What is a Group Subscription?

A Group Subscription enables you to subscribe for yourself and optionally include any number of other people - family, friends, teammates, small group members, etc., in your plan. Anyone you include in your Group Subscription will be able to access all the courses included in your subscription plan. The creator of a Group Subscription manages subscription payments and membership in the Group Subscription.


Getting started

A creator of a Group Subscription can get started with these basic steps:

  1. Create a Group Subscription by selecting the number of people you'd like to include in your subscription plan and subscribing on their behalf.

  2. Add people to your Group Subscription by entering their email addresses and sending out instant invite emails. They will be added to your Group Subscription once they accept the invite link in their email.

  3. Once they have joined your Group Subscription, you can invite your group members to join any Path included in the subscription plan and they will be able to start their study with no further payment required. Your group members can also self-enroll in any Path included in the subscription plan that is available for public or members-only registration.


How do I create a Group Subscription?

You can start a Group Subscription by going to your school's page and selecting "Subscribe."

  1. You may have an option to pay monthly or annually or select from differing plans. Group pricing differs by school. Contact your school admin with any questions.

  2. Choose the "Yourself and others" option. Two new options will appear.

  3. Select how many "seats" you'd like to purchase for other people in your group. You will be able to add/subtract later.

  4. Add a group name that your members will recognize when you invite them (e.g., "FBT Group Study" or "Johnson Family")

  5. Press the "Subscribe for..." button (If you have a promotion code or gift code you'd like to apply, you can do that at the final step).

  6. If you are not already signed in, you'll be directed to a new screen where you can sign in with your existing email address and password or create a new account. Once you sign-in or create a new account, you'll be directed back to the Subscribe form and will need to press the "Subscribe" button again. You will be redirected to Checkout.

  7. On Checkout, you have the option to enter a promotion code or gift subscription code.

  8. Once you're ready to start, enter your credit card information or select the Apple Pay or Google Pay option. Press the "Subscribe" button to complete your purchase.

  9. Once you see the "Subscription Complete" message, you're ready to go! Now you can invite your group members to join you.


How do I redeem a discount code or gift subscription?

Codes can be redeemed at the start of a new subscription. To start a new subscription, go to the Subscribe page in your account.

  1. Follow the steps above until you get to step #7, the Checkout page.

  2. When the Checkout page opens, you will see the option to "Add promotion code."

  3. Enter your code here and you will see the discounted subscription pricing. Proceed with entering your card information and select the "Subscribe" button to confirm.

If you are entering a gift code or other code for free access, you will not be charged until the free period expires, and you will be able to cancel your subscription before you are billed.


How do I add people to my Group Subscription?

You can add people to your Group Subscription by following the steps below. Note that you will need to have a paid seat in your Group Subscription for each person you add. If you've filled all your paid seats, first purchase additional seats before adding more people.

  1. Navigate to your Home page.

  2. Select the "People" tab

  3. Find your Group and select it.

  4. Press the "Add members" button

  5. Enter the email address of each person you would like to invite to join your Group Subscription plan. Once they accept the email invite, they will be automatically added to your Group Subscription and have full access to subscription-based content.


How can I tell who has accepted their invite to my Group Subscription?

You can check anytime by opening up the management screen for your Group Subscription. Here's how to find it:

  1. Navigate to your Home page.

  2. Select the "People" tab

  3. Find your Group that you previously created and select it. It should open up to the right so you can see all the members who have joined and any pending invites.


Can I add someone to my Group Subscription who doesn't yet have an account?

Yes, your invited group members will be prompted to either log in or create an account when you invite them to join your Group Subscription.

They will have free, unlimited access to all courses included in the subscription plan as long as they are part of your Group Subscription.


How do I remove someone from my Group Subscription?

You can remove people from your Group Subscription by following these steps. Note that this will not remove seats from your plan. Once seats are freed up, you can invite other people to join. Or, see the instructions further down for removing seats from your plan to lower your bill.

  1. Navigate to your Home page.

  2. Select the "People" tab

  3. Find your Group and select it.

  4. Select the ellipsis icon to the right of the member you'd like to remove.

  5. Select "Remove access" or "Remove from group" and confirm.

Removing access allows you to later restore access without sending a new invite. Removing a member from the group removes them permanently.


How do I adjust the number of seats included in my plan?

You can add or remove seats anytime and your billing will adjust accordingly. If you'll be removing seats that are already filled, it is recommended to first remove people from your group that will no longer be included in your subscription plan before removing seats from your plan.*

To manage the number of seats in your subscription plan, you will need to go back to the Checkout page.

  1. Navigate to your Home page.

  2. Select the "People" tab

  3. Find your Group and select it.

  4. Select the ellipsis icon in the upper right corner.

  5. Select "Manage subscription" and you will be redirected to the Checkout page. You will be able to modify your existing subscription here.

  6. Select "Update plan."

  7. Select "Update quantity." Adjust the number of seats you'd like to pay for as part of your Group Subscription and confirm.

If additional payment is due, you will be charged immediately. If you have already paid for seats that were removed, the credit will be applied to your following payments. If you prefer to cancel your subscription entirely, go to How do I cancel my Group Subscription? below.

Restore access

*Note: If you reduce the number of seats from a full group without first removing people from your group, the most recent members of your group will have their access revoked automatically. You'll be able to use the "Give access" option in the drop down menu beside each member's name to restore access.


How do I change my subscription plan?

If your school offers multiple subscription plans, you can switch between them anytime.

To edit your subscription, follow these steps:

1. Open your profile in the upper right corner of your account.

2. Select "Manage subscription."

3. A new page will open. Under Billing, select "Update plan."

4. Under "Plans Available" select the desired plan.

5. Select "Continue" and confirm the change.

If additional payment is due, you will be charged immediately. If you have already paid, the credit will be applied to your following payments.


How do I cancel my Group Subscription?

  1. Open your profile in the upper right corner of your account.

  2. Select “Manage Subscription.” You will be taken to the Checkout page.

  3. Select “Cancel Plan.”

  4. Confirm by selecting “Cancel Plan” again and your subscription will be canceled.


Can I pause my Group Subscription?

As of this time, we do not support pausing Group Subscriptions.


How do I update my credit card information?

  1. Open your profile in the upper right corner of your account.

  2. Select “Manage Subscription.” You will be taken to the Checkout page.

  3. Scroll down and you will see a list of Payment Methods. At the bottom of this list, select "+ Add Payment Method."

  4. You will be prompted to enter your new credit card information.


How do I update my email address or download an invoice/receipt?

  1. Open your profile in the upper right corner of your account.

  2. Select “Manage Subscription.” You will be taken to the Checkout page.

  3. Scroll down and you will see your email address. Select "Update information" to change the email address where you are contacted about billing.

  4. To download a past invoice or receipt, select one of the invoices listed under "Invoice History." Then select one of the download buttons.


How do I rename my Group Subscription?

You can edit your group name anytime under the group settings.

  1. Navigate to your Home page.

  2. Select the "People" tab

  3. Find your Group and select it.

  4. Select the ellipsis icon in the upper right corner.

  5. Select "Edit group settings" to edit the name and save.


Can people who are not included in my Group Subscription join a private group study along with those who are included?

Yes. Here's how this works:

  • Anyone that you include in your Group Subscription plan will be able to join any course included in the subscription for free.

  • Anyone who has an existing personal or Group Subscription will be able to join for free.

  • Anyone who is not included in your Group Subscription and who does not have an existing subscription will be asked to subscribe when you invite them to your private study group.

You'll need to use the Share button to invite or add everyone who you want to have access to your private group study.


How do I add someone to my Group Subscription who already has their own personal or Group Subscription?

First, have them cancel their existing subscription following the instructions under "How do I cancel my Group Subscription?" They will retain access under their own subscription through the end of the current monthly or annual billing cycle.

Second, invite them to join your Group Subscription following these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Home page and select the "People" tab.

  2. Select your group under "Groups."

  3. Press the "Add members" button.

  4. Enter the email address of each person you would like to invite to join your Group Subscription plan. Once they accept the email invite, they will be automatically added to your Group Subscription.

Their access will automatically continue on your Group Subscription when their personal subscription or previous Group Subscription reaches the cycle end.
