For learners, teachers, and designers

Our Path Navigator feature makes it easy to search, explore, and find exactly what you need in any Path. Whether you’re a learner navigating course content or a designer keeping materials up to date, the Path Nav helps you move faster and stay organized. Open the Path Navigator by clicking on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the path or by typing Cmd+K (Ctl+K).

For learners: Quickly find what you need

Path Nav provides a clear, structured view of every step in a Path, making it easier to navigate long courses. The table-of-contents-style layout allows for quick scanning and direct access to any step.

Searching for something specific? Type a keyword, and Path Nav will locate the exact Step or Block where it appears:

Learners can use the Path Nav to . . .

  • Scan a path easily: Get a table-of-contents-style view of every step in your Path for quick scanning and access. You can also scan the path for any complete or incomplete steps (indicated with a checkmark).

  • Search instantly: Find lessons, topics, or handouts with a simple keyword searchβ€”jump straight to the exact step or content block.

  • Search and navigate from anywhere in the path: You can open the Path Nav tool from anywhere in the path, including within a step, by selecting the magnifying glass icon or typing Cmd+K (Ctl+K). Searching for and selecting another step will jump straight to that step.

  • Review & catch up: Revisit key lessons and jump back to important materials.

In-line Step Navigator

You can also open a focused Navigator directly from the step view by hovering (desktop) or tapping (mobile) on the navigation dots at the top:

This opens a centered overlay that displays only the steps within the current lesson, helping you stay oriented without leaving the step.

Want the full Path view? Tap the expand icon or use the arrow in the top right to switch to the main side panel Navigator.

For teachers & moderators: Answer questions & guide learners

Path Nav helps teachers provide quick, accurate guidance by making it easy to locate key content. Instead of scrolling through an entire Path, teachers can search for a concept or resource and jump straight to the relevant step:

Teachers can use Path Nav to . . .

  • Answer questions efficiently: Instantly find and reference key lessons or steps when responding to learner inquiries.

  • Support discussions & feedback: Locate past topics to provide contextual and accurate feedback.

  • Prepare for teaching: Quickly review important course materials before a live session or Q&A.

For Path designers: Keep content up to date

Path Nav simplifies content management by making it easy to locate and update information across an entire Path. Instead of manually checking each lesson, designers can search for specific terms and instantly see every mention:

Path designers can use Path Nav to . . .

  • Find & update content: Search for outdated policies, team members, or resources and update them in every instance.

  • Ensure accuracy: Keep learning materials and company policies consistent, current, and well-organized.

Q. Is there anything I can do to optimize my Path for the Path Navigator?

Path Nav is a simple, powerful tool for learners, moderators, teachers, and designers alike. But it does rely on the text that’s in your Path. To optimize your Path, consider doing the following:

  • Use specific, short, and clear Step titles so that they're easy to scan on the Path Navigator.

  • Add the title of videos, articles, or books in the Step title, Block text, or a file name to make them searchable.
